Many people asked me how to make rice perfectly. It is one of the most popular basic and easy recipe. I will guide you how to cook rice perfectly within 20 minutes.
All peoples are not a expert in cooking. There are also those who have some experience, but the rice never suits them. And this happens because of some mistake in the preparation. There is no such thing as “I have a bad hand to make cooked rice.”
Now let us learn the techniques how to make white rice perfectly. If you follow my instruction at the end of post you will get cooked rice.
Ideal Proportion of water to the rice
The general rule is that in order to cook white rice, for 1 measure of rice should be used 2 measure of water. However, there is a great variety of rice dishes and you need to try each one.
Brown rice requires more water for cooking, and short-grain rice needs a little less than average.
Keep in mind that the more water the grain will be more hydrated and therefore softer. For a firmer grain the ideal would be to control the portion of water.
In fact, the Rice Association of the United States suggests proportions and cooking time to apply according to different types and recipes of rice . Let’s see:

How to Cook Rice Perfectly within 15 Minutes
The ingredients for 4 servings are:
- 1 cup white rice
- 2 cups water
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
You may use any extra ingredient is to flavor and, in this case, we will not do it.

To prepare rice recipes, look for a medium pot in good condition to make the rice. Take a cup of rice and wash it until the water is clear is a matter of preference.
Pour 2 cup of water in pot and keep high heat and let it boil. When the water boiled add the rice and cover the top.
When the water with rice has once boiled remove the cover. Add salt and vegetable oil.
Once the water has boiled again, place the lid and lower the level of the fire. Now continue cooking for 7 to 10 minutes.
Uncover and test the rice. It should be ready by now. If it is not (remember that some kitchens are less potent), cover again for another 3 to 5 minutes.
When you finish, move the pot and off the stove. Leave the lid on and set it aside for at least 5 minutes. It will help to vaporize the rice. If you don’t do it, it make moisture of rice.
You shake it well with a spoon or a rice spatula. It make the excess moisture escape and the rice become fluffy.
The rice is Ready to eat. Serve rice with addition to soups, or add your favorite spices and vegetables to create a complete meal.
